Babble/Where Am I Going is a digital split single by The Kind Cocoa Mama (aka Crysta Bloom) and Ethan Woods.
Side A is Babble, a chant Crysta created based on sounds Epiphany, her daughter, taught her.
"Epiphany used to say 'Mmm-Gah' and 'Guh-Wa-Wa' all the time. I would say it back to her and we would communicate using her secret language. Soon I began to chant and sing it all the time. Its been stuck in my head for months now."
Crysta approached Ethan to help flesh out the chant for a video she was working on with Nichole Washington, her friend and collaborator, (
nicholewashington.com) and Ezra Bloom, her husband (
soundcloud.com/ezrabloom). As a life long babbler himself, Ethan was thrilled to join the process. The video, titled 'Grain', was released on Mother's Day in 2020. You can watch that here:

Crysta Bloom is a meditation healer. She creates chants and guided meditations to release stagnant energy from the body. You can listen to more of her work here:

Side B is Where Am I Going, a song Ethan wrote during the first week of the shutdown of New York City during the COVID pandemic. It's an ode to the end of the future as we knew it, a celebration of being stuck in the dark.
